Emma
Emma Jarvis Bsc (Genetics) Dip Hort, Dip GD – Garden Designer & Horticulturist
Personal & Professional Background
With a degree in Genetics from the University of Leeds, I initially followed an academic path — but a lifelong love of plants and the outdoors soon pulled me in a more creative direction. Inspired by early memories of visiting National Garden Scheme open days with my parents, I made the leap into horticulture, volunteering in gardens before formally retraining.
In 2016, after earning a diploma in the Practices and Principles of Horticulture from the RHS (via Shuttleworth and Craven College), I launched my own gardening business, working hands-on with around 30 regular clients. I went on to manage plant departments at Blue Diamond garden centres, deepening my practical and commercial plant knowledge.
Today, I’m a nursery plant manager at one of the UK’s premier garden establishments and hold a diploma in Garden Design (Distinction) from the British Academy of Garden Design. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Landscape Architecture at Birmingham City University — expanding my vision from planting design to fully integrated, sustainable landscapes.

Sam
Sam Jarvis HND ID, Dip SD – Hard Landscaping Specialist
Personal & Professional Background
Graduating with distinction in Interior Design from Guildhall University, London, in 1999. Sam has since used his expertise in spatial design to excel in construction, garden builds, and hard landscaping. With over 25 years’ professional experience, and a background as both an artist and craftsman, Sam delivers exceptional quality and innovation to each project. Sam specialises in design elements such as curves, brick circles, archways, and Indian stone work. Drawing on an extensive knowledge base in both building and landscaping—from extensions to patios—Sam brings structural expertise and a broad understanding to every project.
